Ukrainian painter and graphic artist, representative of the early 20th-century artistic generation, whose work combined classical training with modernist experimentation.
He studied at the Kyiv Art School in the workshop of Oleksandr Murashko and at the Ukrainian Academy of Arts. He lived and worked in Vinnytsia as a teacher, painter, and graphic artist. His heritage includes portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes, engravings, and illustrations for the works of Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky. Of particular significance are his series dedicated to urban life, especially the life of the Jewish quarter Jerusalymka.
In 1937, he was repressed and executed in Vinnytsia, and his works were placed in special archives. The artist was only rehabilitated in 1988. Today, his works are preserved in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and other collections, restoring his name to the cultural memory.
